The Top of the World Ranch Treatment Centre is set upon a private 600-acre ranch surrounded by the wild Rocky Mountains, minutes down the highway from the East Kootenay’s major urban centre of Cranbrook, B.C.
From the highway, a country road leads you up to the property gates and through to a circular driveway with an Inukshuk (the Inuit name of a stone landmark that means “to act in the capacity of a human”) where the ranch’s modern administration building is located.
Our welcoming staff will greet you inside the elegant entrance lobby, where you will check in and begin your Top of the World journey.
The Top of the World Ranch Treatment Centres Main Lodge is an impressive log structure.
The lodge has a large great room with a rock fireplace that along with the leather and handcrafted furnishings, offers a warmth and feel reminiscent of wilderness lodges from a bygone era.
We are a 28-bed treatment centre with accommodation in the form of two-bedroom cabins as well as two-bedroom suites in the Main Lodge.
To be clear, you will have your own private bedroom but you will share a bathroom with one other. Fully private rooms with en-suite are limited.
The detoxification centre, or detox as we refer to it, is a splendidly beautiful cedar log building. This very private, medically supported detox has room for four clients. Each will have their own private bedroom and private bathroom.
After many years of contemplating offering a sweat lodge experience here at Top of the World Ranch, the time became right for us to approach our local First Nations the Ktunaxa and to ask if an Elder would be interested in facilitating sweats for our clients.
We at Top of the World Ranch were very clear that we would not offer this life-affirming experience without the Blessing of the Ktunaxa and their involvement in the design, the building and facilitation of the sweats.
There are a lot of amenities and activities to enjoy during your stay at Top of the World Ranch Treatment Centre, including Loon Lake a short distance away, many paths and trails, indoor and outdoor activities, plus many private areas for meditation or contemplation.
