“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined. It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see. Our life is frittered away by detail... simplify, simplify”
Henry David Thoreau

Jason Nirenberg – Ranch Nurse

Registered Psychiatric Nurse
Honors Bachelor in Outdoor Recreation Parks and Tourism
Diploma in Counseling Psychology

I came to work at the ranch to inspire people to create change in their lives. Whether this change is mental, emotional, physical, spiritual or social; the ranch is about change and recovery, to set oneself free. My past employment history has ranged from guiding young offenders into the mountains for week long spiritual expeditions, canoeing deep into the remote wilderness of British Columbia; creating an environment for change and working with people in crisis by counseling in the most unique office settings. My dive into the world of psychiatric nursing took me from working inpatient psychiatry in the hospital and tertiary settings to increasing the pace by working in the ER, after this followed with working along-side RCMP as a crisis response nurse in a specialized mental health unit called Car60.

Working in the addictions field has been a passion of mine since I was an adolescent. When I became sober, I devoted my life to inspiring people to find a healthy passion that they love and to harness this passion. I currently live in Kimberley, BC with my lovely wife, two small children and a slobbering St. Bernard puppy dog.
